Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA)

Assistance for workers who have lost their jobs due to foreign trade

The Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) for Workers program is a federal program that assists U.S. workers who have lost or may lose their jobs as a result of foreign trade. It seeks to provide adversely affected workers with opportunities to obtain the skills, credentials, resources and support necessary to build skills for future jobs.

Think you may be eligible for TAA benefits? Follow these steps.

Create an account at kansasworks.com.
Send an email to ApplyTAA@ks.gov to request a TAA application. Be sure to include your name as well as the name of the layoff company.
A TAA case manager will be assigned to you.
To move forward in the process, you will need to provide documentation to your case manager including your layoff letter, identity verification (photo ID and Social Security card) and your most recent pay stub.
