About

Jay Cady and Leslie Seifert-Cady are theater artists skilled in juggling, mime, magic, storytelling, and improvisation. They have performed in 36 states and 7 foreign countries. In addition to their signature concert performance “Drop of a Hat”, they have developed school and library programs using their theatrical skills to teach math, literacy, science, and civics.

Primary Program Description

“Drop of a Hat” – Up to 90-minute duet performance of juggling, mime, magic and improvisation for all ages. The show can be produced in two acts on a stage with light and sound cues, or it can be presented in a shorter form with minimal tech support.

Program Fee
  • $400-$800 performance fee + travel expenses. The performance fee depends on length of show and amount of tech preparation. Travel fees include mileage (54 cents per mile round trip from Kansas City) and lodging ($75 per night).
  • Additional $400 per juggling workshop
  • Additional $400 per educational activity
Community Activity Information

Juggling Workshop – 60-minute workshop for ages 10 and up. Jay and Leslie bring a variety of juggling props and motion toys for folks to try. The workshop begins with traditional toss juggling with scarves and bean bags, then moves on to spinning plates, Chinese yo-yos, flower sticks, and other manipulation and balance props. Families are encouraged to participate together. It is also a great activity for teen groups.
