In our quest to bring Internet access to unserved and/or areas of compelling need within Kansas, the Office of Broadband Development is pursuing funds through the NTIA’s Broadband Infrastructure program to accelerate additional Infrastructure builds in Kansas.
To ensure transparency and efficiently steward taxpayer funds, a public comment process relative to the State of Kansas’ proposed National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) Broadband Infrastructure Program application is intended to provide an opportunity for Kansas stakeholders to provide relevant feedback regarding the proposed service areas (listed below).
The Office of Broadband Development intends to apply in partnership with the following service providers and associated proposed broadband infrastructure projects as part of the State of Kansas, Office of Broadband Development (OBD) – NTIA Broadband Infrastructure Program competitive grant program.
This opportunity for public comment, albeit on a compressed response timeframe, seeks to validate investment in the proposed areas is warranted and that these areas do indeed have a compelling need for connectivity. A public comment template (PDF) file is available below for comment submission. Comments should be emailed to KDC_Broadband@ks.gov by August 10, 2021.
